We are excited to announce that we have just finished our latest project – IP based real-time conversion and delivery of US TV channel into Europe.

Our current customer, an US based TV station, came with an idea to expand its audience – in Europe. The US TV station required a tailored solution to handle the delivery of the US broadcast stream to its European on-the-cloud premises. A software-defined solution had to receive the US source stream via IP in Europe and to perform a real-time transcoding and streaming.

The major challenge in this project results from the difference between the native broadcast streams on the 2 continents – North America and Europe. The native format used by the TV station for USA is 1080p @ 29.97 fps, while the native format used in Europe is 1080p @ 25 fps. We decided to implement IP based real-time conversion of video, audio and fps for this case.

So, we’ve worked our magic, developed some new features, run extensive tests – both on premise and in the cloud, and successfully finished the project in time!

For delivering the US stream and broadcasting it directly in Europe the customer had installed the following newly re-designed and customized solutions:

Customized Encoder & IP Streaming – provides real-time audio and video format conversion  during the encoding or transcoding process. The solution receives IP stream in 1080 @ 29.97 fps and performs real-time transcoding into 1080 @ 25 fps and streams it via IP.

Customized Capture & Encoding – provides both manual and time-automated HD capturing and creating video clips from live source for displaying them on broadcaster’s website and/or syndicating highlights to social media. The solution performs real-time transcoding from the received 1080 @ 29.97 fps stream and captures files with 1080 @ 25 fps.

Coming soon: More great features are already in development.
