We are proud to announce the new major release of JPlayout – the IP input support. The playout solution has been extended to receive UDP, RTP, RTMP, RTSP, HLS and MPEG DASH input streams as a source. In case of IP stream source the playout performs demultiplexing as well as full stream decoding. The IP inputs that the solution supports are MPEG-2 Transport Stream, AVC/H.264 Video, MPEG-2 Video, AAC Audio and MPEG Layer I/II/III audio, received via UDP, RTP or HLS, MP4 for MPEG DASH and RTSP.
Multiple IP source streams can be added into one single playlist. Furthermore, it is possible to have different type of transitions between the different sources. In case of enabled Graphics option, JPlayout can brand the output with corresponding graphics overlay. This can be performed either in live mode or with pre-built graphic rules set in the playlist.
When the Streaming output option of JPlayout is enabled, the solution can be used for receiving and simultaneous switching of several IP inputs with different formats, resolutions and frame rates. It can then apply graphics overlay and stream out to UDP, RTP, HLS or DASH the new rebranded channel.
