The new release of JGraphics brings two major new features – Timeline and Image Sequence. The solution has implemented timeline for each graphical element. This new feature allows display offsetting or hide offsetting of each element with pre-defined time. Along with the delay, each element can now be assigned different effect on show or hide. The available effects to choose from are:

• Fade
• From Left
• From Right
• From Bottom
• From Top
• Squeeze

Each effect, either on show or hide, can also be configured to have different duration.

One of the most common graphics elements – Image Sequence has also been updated. The element is now built of two image sequences – ‘Image sequence on show’ and ‘Image sequence on hide’. The ‘Image sequence on show’ is displayed on graphics element show and the ‘Image sequence on hide’ is displayed on element hide. The image sequence has also been extended with a Loop property. This allows the image sequence to be looped endlessly, to be shown only once and to be frozen on the last frame or to be shown once and then hidden.

Both Timeline and Image Sequence extensions enable JGraphics for building more complex graphical presets. These features can further be used in manual or automated mode. The Timeline and Image Sequence features are available in JPlayout, JGraphics, JCapture or JIPEncoder.

The new releases of JPlayout, JGraphics, JCapture and JIPEncoder now support manual graphics preset control. The functionality is available through the Graphics Preset List control form. All the pre-built graphic presets are listed and available for manual Start, Pause and Stop. Each graphic preset needs to be pre-built either in the integrated graphics module into the corresponding product (playout, capture and IP encoder) or in the stand-alone JGraphics solution. Once built and saved, the graphic preset is available for manual control. The preset control form also allows simultaneous control of several graphical presets, using the control multi-select feature. The manual graphic control enables the solution for TV shows and live productions.

Apart from the manual graphics preset mode, JPlayout now also supports automated graphics preset insertion. Each file and stream source can be assigned with one or several graphics overlays. The new key feature allows several graphics presets to be assigned to one single playlist element. This helps achieve better organization and control of the graphics layers. With the new automated graphics preset control functionality each clip can be set to either show or to hide pre-defined set of graphic presets. The new functionality is available through the playout Events that control each media item in the playlist.

Having the manual graphics control functionality implemented, the stand-alone JGraphics solution can now be used in a standard CG overlay systems with SDI, HD-SDI, Composite, Component input/output, overlaying graphics on top of the video signal being passed-through.

We are proud to announce the graphics overlay integration in our main broadcast product line. JPlayout, JIPEncoder and JCapture have now integrated JGraphics, which is the main graphics editor and overlay solution. The graphics overlay comes with a graphics designer, which can be used for logo insertion, still image insertion, animated image sequence objects, text objects, crawls, rolls, clocks, RSS feeds and more, where a set of graphical objects can be grouped into a preset and later applied in any of the integrated products.

The integration with the JPlayout solution is fully automated – each graphical preset can be assigned to a playout clip as a graphical event to be displayed at the beginning of the clip and to be hidden at the end of the clip. The graphical events, along with the graphical preset information are preserved in the saved playout playlist for easy transportation.

In JIPEncoder and JCapture graphics overlay integration works in live mode, allowing live graphics editing and insertion into the captured files / streams. For both solutions, the graphics overlay is applied on the input raw stream, which is then passed for encoding, multiplexing and streaming or ingest.

Along with the playout, ingest and streaming integration, the JGraphics solution is also available as a stand-alone product, which can perform internal and external keying using BlackMagic DeckLink card having SDI, HDMI, Composite or Component interface.
