Real-time Video Scaling and fps Conversion

These new features can be quite handy for TV stations for live broadcast both in Europe and in North America. The major challenge in such workflow comes from the difference between the native broadcast streams in North America and Europe. The native format used by the TV stations in USA is 1080p @ 29.97 fps. And the native format used in Europe is 1080p @ 25 fps. And apart from the long distance and the need for cloud-based installations, a software-defined solution to receive the US source stream via IP in Europe and to perform a real-time transcoding is required. Our two products are especially designed for covering the need of real-time video scaling and fps conversion. Plus – they require minimum supervision and maintenance from an operator.

The solution receives IP stream in 1080 @ 29.97 fps and performs real-time transcoding into 1080 @ 25 fps and streams it via IP. Furthermore, the solution is software-defined, making it perfect for cloud installations. Also JIPEncoder is fully integrated in the playout for better control.

Capture & Encoding – JCapture provides both manual and time-automated HD capturing and creating video files from live source for displaying them on broadcaster’s web site and syndicating highlights to social media. The solution performs real-time transcoding from the received 1080 @ 29.97 fps and captures files with 1080 @ 25 fps. Again – the solution is software-defined, making it perfect for cloud installations.
